Last WE, we went to Lucerne/Luzern, in Mittle Switzerland, for a beautiful concert of Myrninerest.

Myrninerest is the side project of David Tibet (from Current 93); the last album was in honour of John Balance, who died in 2004. John balance was really an important figure of the english underground and particpated in so much project that today constitues absolute references for any neo folk/ industrial music fan, such as Death in June, Psychic TV, Nurse With Wound... The interesting fact is that the concert was also taking place in a beautiful place: evangelist church, the Mattaeus Kirche. Like if people were waving a last goodbye...The church were the concert has took place:

Frozen Nokturnal

I was not able to take any pictures during the concert, since the organisers have taken the services of a professional photographer, and that photos were forbidden during the concert. Anyway, these are a few pics stollen from the organisers website.

The concert was really touching and really close to the "Jhonn, uttered Babylon" album. At the back on a screen, attendance can see a few filmed prepared by David Tibet for the occasion, a collage of souvenirs, pictures, drawings and correspondance the two friends had in the past. A few trembling videos of John Balance were a fragile but emotive link to his memory...

David Tibet sound really tuched by the moment, and I must admit that pain was here for us too... The sadness of loosing a friend sound really universal. The music was just a perfect memento mori, and I was just amazed by the large palette of emotions David Tibet is capable to make you throough. It's the third time I see him live and each time is really different. This performance was definitely under the sign of lonelyness and loss, but such a precise and subbtle way... it was really admirable. At a moment I just felt really out of place: it was strange to even clapse hands at the end of each titles: this gesture was far too "happy" for the deepness and intensity of the previous moment... And there was this kind of voyeurisme at being here, watching the distress of a man who lost one of the person he was probably the most close to in his life.

On the last title, David Tibet ended with a trembling voice, calling: "Exhaustion With Jhonn waving Goodbye as the Wind - "WHERE ARE YOU?" Then everyone clapped and stand up to go out... And I just felt so shaken it took me almost a quarter of half an hour to felt ok again. Strange feeling, since we had some good friends in the assistance and planned to have a nice evening together. But it was a clash of emotions!
Anyway, David Tibet was chatting friendly with some guyz from the assistance. Thanks to Ann, I have been introduiced, even if I was feeling loosy and miserable as always when I encounter any artist that have a certain importance in my life. But he was really sweet, kissed me, asking my name, and start chatting in french! How amazing is this man?! Humble while being a symbol of art by himself. That's not silly fangirlism: you have to admit this manjust has a presence, and owe all the respect you can have in the world.
After that, we quit the place and started looking for a place to eat (at 22:00, it was not an easy quest): we finaly sat at Movënpick to have a delicious salad and warm traditional plate with our friends Christian and Ann. We also had a beer in the afterparty in La Fourmi/ Hotel Anker, but all we wanted was to chat quietly with our friends! All in all, it was one of the best evening I had for a long time, feeling twice touched by music and friendship!
The day after, after a good night in a delicious hotel, we had a walk in Lucerne, but it was -7°C, so not the best circumstances to hang outside quietly.

Anyway, we tried to enjoy those beautiful Middle Age wood bridges like we did three years ago... and all those beautiful buildings that make all the charm of this city, sitten by the side of the Four Lands lake.

As Joseph, carpenter, I am also admiring the wood work of those traditionnal frames ;) (What is that sudden Tibet-ish mood?!)

After a delicious pastry, filled with the hazelnuts paste you always find in germanish pastries, we had a rfuge at the Museum of Modern Arts, sitten in the beautiful cultural center built by Jean Nouvelle.

As a snow storm had started, it was difficult to take any decent picture of the building :( But the inerior, all in glass and metal was just impressive.

You have to take an all-in-transparency elevator to access the museum, at the last floor :)

Your servitor was is an architectural mood and also found the railway station pretty cool, on her way back to the car! XD
