In the last monthes of 2012, we had the chance to attend a concert from Rosa Crux.

This French gothic band really has a particular atmosphere: religious references intricate with a kind of avant-gardiste atmosphere.

They are quite reknown for their live performances, wich are always a pleasure to attend.

Rosa Crux has created their own instruments: a strange machine working with drums, as a kind of rythm box, actionated my memebers of the band, seld made bass, and a giant instrument composed of multiple bells, giving the impression to be in an parallel universe, somewhere between Arvo Pärt's subconscious dream and Middle Age's cathedral.

The compositions are really somptuous. They have released 3 albums, and each of them is a little gem. Anyway, the band did not produced anything new since a few years.

The voice are really particular too: sometimes spectral, sometimes closer to a Chor of tortured spirits, totaly asexual, but totaly touching. Murmure, repetitions, detached spellings ... All converge to complete the aura of this mystic music. All the lyrics are written in Latin, reinforcing the stong Middle Age and catholic references of the band.

Defenitely one of the best french band, and one of my favorite gothic band.
