Music: new EP from Thomas Bellier and Ron Whitehead
The bone Men

Hello eveyone!

Sorry for my long silence: I come back with a little news, the outing of a release from Thomas Bellier (Blaak Heat Shujaa, Spindrift) and Ron Whitehead (a famous american poet), called "The Bone Men".

This CD is a bit important to me, caused Thomas asked me the permission to use one of my picture for the back of the album ;)

Do you remember, it was in this post! A very good concert from Spindrift.

To give an ear to their work, please check this Soundcloud link!

I leave you with a small description by Thomas, that gives a overall looking of his work:

THE BONE MEN (Ron Whitehead & Thomas Bellier) announce new EP and live appearance at GonzoFest 2014.

Gonzo poet Ron Whitehead and psychedelic guitarist Thomas Bellier have joined forces as THE BONE MEN and will unveil THE BONE MEN EP on April 4, 2014 via Louisville Multimedia.
An experiment in spoken word and psychedelia, the collaboration sees Whitehead perform three of his most-acclaimed poems on top of Bellier’s improvised layers of guitar. The duo takes you on a far-reaching exploration of swarming delays and social change, bringing out the best in Whitehead’s instantly recognizable flow and at times stepping over the boundary of a free jazz freak-out. Recorded live at Scott Reeder’s desert ranch, the EP was mixed by Grammy Award-winning producer, Matt Hyde alongside Bellier. Whitehead and Bellier have previously collaborated on two spoken word tracks for Bellier’s heavy rock outfit, Blaak Heat Shujaa.

THE BONE MEN will appear live on April 4th at GonzoFest 2014 at the Muhammad Ali Center (Louisville, KY). An international music, poetry and arts festival celebrating the life and times of Hunter S. Thompson, GonzoFest 2014 will take place from March 31 to April 5 at multiple venues in Thompson’s hometown of Louisville. Festival highlights will include the US premiere of For No Good Reason, the Ralph Steadman documentary hosted by Johnny Depp, and the unveiling of the giant “Hunter’s Louisville” banner with art by Ralph Steadman hung from a downtown location to be announced soon.
Ron Whitehead is a poet from Louisville, KY. As poet and writer, he is the recipient of numerous state, national, and international awards. Whitehead has been nominated for the Nobel Prize in literature and twice for a Pulitzer Prize. Notable works include a poem co-written with The Dalai Lama (Never Give Up) and collaborations with rock bands, My Morning Jacket and Sigur Rós. He has edited, published, and recorded over 2,000 titles. The mastermind behind GonzoFest 2014, Whitehead has produced 3,000 music and poetry events throughout Europe and the USA, including The Official Hunter S. Thompson Tribute (featuring Thompson himself, Johnny Depp, Warren Zevon, Roxanne Pulitzer, David Amram) in 1996.
Thomas Bellier is a French musician and recording engineer based out of Los Angeles, CA. He plays guitar in heavy psychedelic rock trio, Blaak Heat Shujaa and L.A. spaghetti western rock institution, Spindrift. His work also includes multiple collaborations with free jazz legend Sonny Simmons. Bellier appears on 9 albums and has toured Europe and the USA extensively.
